April Meetings Cancelled and Nominations Postponed Due to COVID-19

March 24, 2020 - IBEW 1837 Business Manager Dick Rogers has announced that all April Unit meetings of our Union have been cancelled. The decision about holding meetings in May will be made at a later time.

Additionally, IBEW 1837 President Michelle Crocker proposed postponing nominations for IBEW 1837 President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Business Manager, and Executive Board until Unit meetings scheduled for this August. (Those nominations were originally slated to take place at the April meetings.) This postponement is consistent with the guidelines provided by the IBEW International office regarding upcoming local elections during this COVID-19 pandemic. The current IBEW 1837 Executive Board has approved the postponement of the nominations and elections. Letters will be sent to our members at their home addresses advising them of the changes.

Members who have recently moved are encouraged to notify the Union Office of their address change.

"Members of IBEW 1837 provide vital services for our communities and we are proud to represent you," Rogers said in an email to members. "Please take care of yourself and your families by adhering to the safe social distancing guidelines of state and federal health officials as much as you possibly can. Thank you for the important work that you're doing every day."
