Annual Labor's Day Breakfast, sponsored by the Southern Maine Labor Council

Once again "9 to 9", Maine's hottest labor band featuring the dynamic duo of Senator Beth Edmonds and the renowned write and musician, Portland's own Phil Hoose, will involve us in song. Photographer Guy Saldanha will have his thired series of People at Work on display along with our own "Red Sky" by Ralph Fasanella. And yes, once gain, there will be poems and politics.

John Radebaugh of Cape Elizabeth will receive the Working Class Hero's Award. At one time John practiced medicine in Bangor. He later taught at Dartmouth College and in between he spent three years working for Cesar Chavez and the Farm Workers Union.

We have a lot to collectively clebrate, remember and enjoy this year. We have won some and lost some. We have fought hard and wehave a long road ahead of us, but we can't do it alone. As our Labor's Anthem proclaims:

When the Union's inspriation through the worekrs' blod shall run,
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun.
Yet what force on Earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
The union makes us strong.

Please join us at Verrillo's on Labor's Day.

IBEW 1837 will have a limited number of tickets available for members and their families. To reserve space with the IBEW 1837 delegation, contact Matt Beck at the IBEW 1837 office.
