The July 4th Solidarity Celebration is from 5:30 till dark on the Penboscot River side in Brewer. Tickets are $10 for adults, $2 for children and $20 for a family (and that includes door prizes). Children under 5 are free. Great food and great music for a good cause. Watch the fireworks from the Park next door! Proceeds to benefit the Eastern Maine Labor Council and laid off workers. This great event is sponsored by the EMLC and Food AND Medicine. The great music will include live performances by renknowned entertainers David Mallet and Bill Morrissey. The great food includes roasted organic lamb, homemade lasagna, fresh organic salad, grilled burgers, desserts, and other great dishes. And, of course, the 5th annual Union Chili Cook-off! Sierra Tondreau, the granddaughter of IBEW 1837 member Dick Masse, was recently diagnosed with Dravet's Syndrome - a severe form of epilepsy. The family is hoping to attend a conference in Chicago that addresses this illness and they need our help. The conference offers free consultations with the world's leading physicians who specialize in this rare form of epilepsy. Tickets are only $6 for adults and $3 for children.
