The Bureau of Labor Education and the Maine State Building and Construction Trades Council present an evening program on Worker Rights Under Maine's Workers' Compensation Laws.

Speaker: Jim Case, Attorney at Law, Counsel for Maine AFL-CIO and Maine Building Trades

Program Topics:

  • An overview of Maine's Workers' Compensation Laws
  • Who is covered and what is covered?
  • Benefits
  • Notice and application process
  • Process for dispute resolution
  • Rights to return to work and/or vocational rehabilitation
  • Other aspects of the law workers need to know

Jim will provide particpants with an informal presentation on these topics, along with an opportunity for quesion and answer discussion.

Please join us for the regular monthly meeting of the Southern Maine Labor Council, AFL-CIO. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month and always end promptly at 8:00pm. Jack Amrock and Matt Beck are current delegates to the council, but all IBEW 1837 members are invited and encouraged to attend. Please note that it can be a little tricky to find the Teamsters Hall the first time around.
