Tour
the Museum L-A in conjunction with the Workers Memorial Day Breakfast
event that starts at 9:00am. The museum (which doesn't have a website
as far as I was able to find out) is building collections of
artifacts, oral history, and film clips that document the lives and times of
workers in the Lewiston/Auburn area. The museum has done special
projects researching and preserving the stories of millworkers in the
cities' history and is now beginning a project on shoe shops and shoe workers.
For more information about the museum, contact Rachel DeGrossliers at the museum, 207-333-3881
Start: 9:00 am
Join us to celebrate the gains of working people and to honor Maine
workers who have died on the job this year. The event will feature good
food, live music with Nine to Nine, speakers and a chance to honor
Maine workers. Last year's event was a great success. You can download a flier for this year's event below. Please join us and bring your family and friends.
A limited number of tickets have been purchased for IBEW Local 1837 members. Contact the union office if you would like one.
General admission for those not obtaining tickets through the union is $15, $7.50 for seniors and children.
