IBEW 1837 at PSNH
Approximately 460 members of IBEW Local 1837 work for Public Service Company of New Hampshire. PSNH, the largest electric utility in New Hampshire, provides electricity for more than 475,000 homes and businesses. PSNH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northeast Utilities, a utility holding company based in Connecticut.
IBEW members work at PSNH locations all over New Hampshire. On the Generation side, our members include Fossil and Hydro Generation Maintenance Personnel, Operations Personnel, Clerical Support, and Chemists. On the Utility side, Lineworkers, Meter Readers, Clerical Workers, Warehouse Personnel, Construction Mechanics and System & Field Electricians are members of our Union. Field Technicians and Field Technician Specialists recently voted in an NLRB election to be represented by IBEW Local 1837.
IBEW 1837 collaborates during negotiations with members of the Steelworkers Union who work at the Nashua location of PSNH.
Members who work at PSNH belong to Units 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, depending on their work location.
